STAND YOUR GROUND!: PROTECT YOURSELF FROM NAYSAYERS.

Have you ever found yourself in a facedown with someone who has an opposing view? Sometimes back, I got into an argument with a guy and nearly turned ugly. He started insulting me; I was filled with rage and wanted to give it to him; however, I held myself back because I did not want to give his words any power. This happens a lot, especially when you are leveling up.

I have been approached by several men who, when I refuse their advances, because of my beliefs, they end up bringing my age and my weight and claiming that I will never be married with such a mentality. You can imagine how you feel when someone makes those statements telling you that you should be lucky that they have approached you, the nerve!

When you choose to prioritize your happiness and wellbeing and have values and standards about the kind of men and life, you want best believe that the naysayers will crawl from whatever hovels and will intimidate you and insult you, belittling you so that you can give up on your dreams. They will laugh at you and point at what station you are right now, telling you to be content with what you have and not strive for more.

I have been called a prostitute and a lazy bum because wanting a stress free life is a sin. I have been reminded of my “poor” background, and why I should settle for the bare minimum, I have been told that I can never amount to anything anyway. These people exist, and they are dangerous to health and wellbeing.

It would be best if you never allowed anyone to waiver you from what you desire in life and your goals and ambitions, regardless of your background. Your journey is yours alone; it is you who will live with regrets of not pursuing what you wanted. In the process, do not argue with those who seek to invalidate your dreams, because once you do, you only end up looking like a fool.

Remember, you do not answer to anyone, and therefore, you do not need to explain or justify your attitude and values to anyone. I do not know what the gentleman gained by insulting me; either way, I wouldn’t care less. I know what I want, and rest assured, I will get it.
